Heard the learned Counsels appearing on behalf of the parties.

Statements of witnesses including the post mortem report prima facie disclose involvement of the petitioner in the murder of the victim housewife.

In view of the aforesaid incriminating materials on record and the gravity of the offence, we are of the opinion this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

However, in view of protracted period of detention suffered by the petitioner i.e. 3 years, we direct the trial court to conclude the trial preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
