Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows.

The private respondents have come up with illegal construction on Government land in front of the petitioners' property. This is obstructing access to the petitioners' property. Accordingly, the petitioners made an application before the concerned authorities on 05.02.2025 to take action in terms of the West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1962. But, no steps have been taken.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the private respondents denies the allegations.

Learned counsel for the State submits that in the event representation is pending consideration, the same will be considered in accordance with law. In view of the above, let the Sub-Divisional Officer, Tamluk Sub-Division consider the petitioners' representation dated 05.02.2025 in accordance with law and upon hearing all the interested parties as expeditiously as possible, preferably within eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. It is clarified that the merits of the case have not been gone into.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
