The petitioner complains that the father of the petitioner was working as Upper Divisional Attendant (UDA) in the department of Youth Services and Sports, Government of West Bengal.

He submits that the father of the petitioner died on 10th September, 2024, leaving behind his wife and two sons, out of which, the petitioner is the elder son. He further submits that the wife of the deceased father is house wife and both the sons are also unemployed. Due to death of the father, the family is in starvation. After the death of the father, the petitioner, being the elder son, has made a representation to the office of the respondent no. 2 for

compassionate appointment on 24th October, 2024 by disclosing all the relevant documents, but till date the representation has not been considered.

This Court finds that the petitioner has made an application for compassionate appointment on the ground of the death of his father during his service. No purpose would be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

Accordingly, WPA 6644 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2 to consider the representation filed by the petitioner dated 24th October, 2024 and to dispose of the same within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of this order.

As the respondents are not filed the Affidavit-inOpposition, the allegations made therein be deemed not to have been denied.

With the above observations, the instant writ petition, being WPA 6644 of 2025, is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
