Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Petitioner has come up with the present writ petition, inter alia, alleging that by creating fake Facebook account in the name of the petitioner certain obnoxious postings were made on Facebook page which prompted the petitioner to lodge complaint with the concerned police authorities.

Prayer is made for taking necessary steps to remove such obnoxious postings and deletion of that fake Facebook account which was created using petitioner's name.

Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 24th March, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Cyber Crime Police Station, Ranaghat Police District, Nadia and same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 24th

[2] March, 2026 is made over to the learned advocate representing the petitioner.

It is disclosed in the communication dated 24th March, 2026 that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner FIR was registered by the concerned authority of Cyber Crime Police Station, Ranaghat, Nadia and a criminal prosecution was initiated being Cyber Crime P.S. Case No.11 of 2026 dated 23rd March, 2026 under certain provisions of BNS.

It is further submitted by the learned advocate representing the State respondents that while investigation was going on, obnoxious postings were removed and fake account was also deleted.

In view of steps taken by the police authorities as it emanates from the communication dated 24th March, 2026, writ petition stands disposed of.

Concerned police authority is directed to expedite the investigation and take the same to its logical conclusion.

Petitioner shall also be at liberty to approach the appropriate forum if occasion so arises in future. 10.

Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings. (SAUGATA BHATTACHARYYA, J.)
