Petitioner prays for bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 855 days. Out of 46 prosecution witnesses, 38 were examined. He submits that the trial be expedited.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the materials in the case diary. The Court is informed that the next date fixed for recording evidence of the prosecution on May 6, 2022.

It would be appropriate to request to the learned Court in seisin of the trial to fix consecutive dates of trial. The trial Court is also requested not to grant any unnecessary adjournments to any of the parties.

Considering the materials in the case diary and considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein and considering the fact that the petitioner was absconding for two and half years and considering the fact that the trial is in

progress, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. C.R.M. (DB) 959 of 2022 is dismissed.
