Petitioner(s) Mr. Tapodip Gupta Mr. Golam Ahamed ... for the Petitioner(s) Ms. Sonali Das Ms. Nahid Ahmed ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that from the possession of the present petitioner 337 gm of brown sugar and 438 gm of Yaba Tablet were allegedly recovered. The petitioner is in custody for one year and only charges have been framed till date, as such, the petitioner may be enlarged on bail.

Learned advocate for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the prosecution has relied upon 17 witnesses out of which one witness has already been examined.

Having considered the quantum of seizure, at this stage, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

The petitioner would renew his prayer for bail after the evidence of the seizure list witnesses is over. Accordingly, CRM (NDPS) 541 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
