The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The petitioner refers to the medical condition of some of his relatives to seek bail.

According to the State, the petitioner was apprehended with commercial quantity of codeine mixture. The chemical analysis report confirmed the substance. Evidence in the trial has already been closed and the matter is next fixed on December 8, 2020 to obtain the petitioner's statement under Section 313 of the Code. Considering the aforesaid, the petitioner does not qualify to obtain bail. However, in the event of any medical emergency pertaining to any family member, an appeal may be made in the usual course to the appropriate authorities and the correctional

home. If such an application is made and found to be genuine, the relevant authorities should take a prompt and generous decision in the matter. The prayer for bail is refused. CRM 3083 of 2020 along with the interim applications therein stand disposed of.
