The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the instant revisional application upon Ms. Baisali Basu, learned Advocate, who normally appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment be regularized by the concerned authority.

The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner is aggrieved by the long continuance of the proceedings. According to the learned Advocate for the petitioner, the case was initiated in the year 2016 and the petitioner is facing hassle since then.

I find that the charge-sheet in this case was filed initially in the year 2016 and subsequently a supplementary charge-sheet in the year 2018.

Having regard to the fact that the present proceedings were initiated almost seven years ago and only charge has been framed till date, the anxiety expressed by the petitioner happens to be justified.

The proceedings are presently pending before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas.

Accordingly, the learned Trial Court is directed to fix atleast one date in a month for the purpose of the present case so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournments should be granted to either of the parties. The learned Public Prosecutor representing the State would produce the documents, materials and exhibits on the date so fixed for the examination of the witnesses. All stakeholders would cooperate with the learned Trial Court for concluding the trial at the earliest.

Accordingly, C.R.R. No. 1009 of 2023 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.
