Mr. Tapodip Gupta Mr. Suman Bhanja ...for the petitioner Ms. Baisali Basu Mr. Kanchan Roy ...for the State This is a renewal of the bail application, which was earlier rejected on 25th June, 2024 wherein this Court made a direction upon the Trial Court to expedite the trial and to conclude it within eight months from the next date fixed for recording of evidence. It is submitted that the trial has not yet been concluded and the petitioner is in custody for about two years and eleven months and thereafter he submits that since his fundamental right of speed trial has been violated, so he is entitled to be released on bail. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that the examination of the accused under Section 313 of the Cr.P.C. has already been completed and the Trial Court has fixed on 21st April, 2025 for hearing argument.

Since, the trial is almost on the verge of completion, the prayer for bail at this stage is considered and rejected. However, the Trial Court is directed to conclude the hearing of

the argument on the next date and to deliver judgment within sixty days from the next date, i.e. 24th April, 2025. CRM (NDPS) No. 372 of 2025 thus stands disposed of. (Dr. Ajoy Kumar Mukherjee, J.)
