The petitioners are the maternal uncles in law of the victim and are in custody for more than 100 days. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners reside separately from the victim and allegations against them are general and omnibus. They pray for bail. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. I have considered the material on record.

Statement of witnesses, particularly the neighbours of the victim implicate the petitioners. The victim suffered unnatural death in her matrimonial home within a year of her marriage. Report indicates that her death was due to manual strangulation.

Considering the material on record, gravity of the offence as well as prima facie involvement of the petitioners therein, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

Case diary be returned.
