The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that investigation into Pingla Police Station Case No.338 of 2021 dated 10th December 2021 under Sections 406/420/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code has not been effectively taken up.

The substance of the petitioner's grievance is that a twelve wheeler truck, bearing registration No. WB33C-8285, entrusted to his driver and cleaner for carrying goods from Haldia to Bengaluru in an around December 2021, has been missing.

The report of the Pingla Police Station indicates that steps have been taken in the investigation. Despite all efforts, the truck could not be traced out. In these circumstances, this Court is of the view that the police cannot be blamed for any inaction. It is, however, ordered that aggressive steps must be taken up for recovery of the truck and for apprehending the accused persons.

The petitioner may provide further inputs, from any independent private investigation he may conduct, for the purpose of tracing out the accused persons and the vehicle, or its parts or portions thereof. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

The report of the Officer-in-Charge, Pingla Police Station, Paschim Medinipur dated 22.09.2022 is taken on record.

There shall be no order as to costs.
