The order passed by the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department on 5th April, 2025 is placed on record.

The order records that the renewal of license for the next period of settlement through e-abgari portal may be allowed to be initiated from licensee end as the new settlement year has already started.

Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the petitioner licensee submits that the renewal fees have already been accepted by the Collector of Excise by issuing e-challan on 30th March, 2025. The petitioner has been directed to pay compensation money of a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- within a period of 10 days.

It will be open for the petitioner to make the payment in terms of the order passed by the Additional Chief Secretary.

In the event the petitioner seeks installment for payment of the compensation money, it will be open for the petitioner to apply before the Additional Chief Secretary for such relief.

The order dated 5th April, 2025 and the receipt showing payment of the renewal fees dated 30th March, 2025 be retained with the records.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
