Versus

Mr. Saikat Banerjee ... for the High Court Administration Pursuant to the recommendation of the Shetty Commission, a revised Pension Payment Order was issued in favour of the petitioner on 11.12.2015. The petitioner admittedly retired as a Sheristedar under the District Judgeship of Purba Burdwan on October 31, 2006.

Based on the said Pension Payment Order, Civil Judge (Jr. Division), 2nd Court, Burdwan by order dated September 6, 2016 thereby sanctioned a sum of Rs. 61,094.00/-.

The said amount has not been paid till date.

The Registrar General of the High Court, Calcutta submits that there is sanction required from the respondent no. 8, the Treasury Officer (1), Burdwan in this regard.

In those circumstances, I direct the respondent no. 8/Treasury Officer (1), Burdwan to sanction the said amount of Rs. 61,094.00/-

within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Upon issuance of sanction and his receipt thereof, Civil Judge (Jr. Division), 2nd Court, Burdwan shall release the arrear salary payable in favour of the petitioner within a period of one month thereafter.

With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

No order as to costs.
