Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the incident arose out of a family dispute. He refers to the contents of the First Information Report (FIR). State and the de-facto complainant are represented. Learned advocate for the State refers to the case diary and submits that the investigations are yet to be concluded. He

submits that the petitioner is the main assailant, who assaulted the victim with an iron rod.

It appears from the medical report of the victim that the victim suffered cut injuries and had to undergo 16 stitches on her face. She was hospitalized for nine days. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein as transpiring from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for anticipatory bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (A) 1704 of 2022 is dismissed.
