Mr. Arunava Ganguly ...for the petitioner Dr. Madhusudan Saha Roy Mr. Debanjan Chatterjee ...for WBSEDCL The petitioner alleges that respondent no.4, his next door neighbour, is obstructing the electricity connection that is to be effected in his favour by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL).

Despite due service, respondent no.4 has not entered appearance.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of WBSEDCL submits that the electricity connection could not be effected due to obstruction caused by respondent no. 4. It is further submitted that WBSEDCL has received a written objection from respondent no.4 opposing the proposed connection in favour of the petitioner.

Upon consideration of the materials on record, I find no reason to prevent WBSEDCL from effecting the electricity connection in favour of the petitioner. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon WBSEDCL to effect the electricity

connection within a period of four weeks from the date of this order. The Officer-in-Charge of Haripal Police Station is directed to provide necessary assistance to the officials of WBSEDCL for this purpose, at the cost of the petitioner.

It is needless to mention that the petitioner shall comply with all additional formalities, if any, as may be required by WBSEDCL.

Accordingly, WPA 6842 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
