The petitioner's prayer seeking higher scale of pay is pending consideration before the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary Education), Hooghly. 3.

The petitioner seeks the benefit of higher scale of pay for the period of 2006 to 2011 when he was serving in a school within the district of Birbhum. 4.

Without entering into the merit of the claim of the petitioner, as it appears that the petitioner's prayer is pending consideration before the District Inspector of Schools (Secondary Education), Hooghly, accordingly, the instant writ petition stands disposed of by directing the aforesaid respondent to take steps to consider the prayer of the petitioner for higher scale of pay in accordance with law and in line with the judgment delivered by the Hon'ble Special Bench of this Court in the matter of Utpal Kanti Karan vs. State of West Bengal & Ors. reported in 2024 SCC

Online Cal 1274 at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.

If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken by the aforesaid respondents without any further delay. 6.
