Mr. Himanshu Gupta, appearing as a representative of the alleged contemnors with the leave of court, submits a report indicating that in terms of the order of this court, the case of the petitioner no. 1 was considered by the SSRB (State Sentence Review Board) and his premature release has been recommended by the said Board.

However, in view of certain further formalities remaining, which have to be taken only by the Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal, although the remission has been granted, the actual release of the petitioner no. 1 has not yet happened.

It is, thus, noticed that the order of this Court has been complied with and, as such,

there is no subsisting contempt on the part of the alleged contemnors.

Accordingly, C.P.A.N. 458 of 2024 is disposed of by keeping on record the copy of the minutes of the relevant meeting of the SSRB handed over on behalf of alleged contemnors, with the expectation that the petitioner no. 1 shall see the light of freedom and be actually and physically released within an outer limit of four weeks from date.

Let a copy of this order be communicated by the Office of this Court to the Judicial Department, Government of West Bengal, immediately.
