Matter is heard in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner, State respondents and respondent no.5.

Learned advocate representing the petitioner on virtual mode submits that due to death of petitioner's son, a complaint was lodged based on which though FIR was registered but there was no substantial progress made in the investigation. Petitioner prays for direction upon the concerned police authority to take the investigation to its logical conclusion and file a report before the jurisdictional Magistrate. 3.

Mr. Pantu Deb Roy, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 26th March, 2026 of Inspectorin-Charge, Joynagar Police Station, Baruipur and same is taken on record.

It is disclosed in the said communication dated 26th March, 2026 that concerning the incident of death of son of the petitioner, FIR was registered and a criminal prosecution was started being Joynagar Police Station Case No.987 of 2025 under Sections 281/106 of BNS. It is also stated in the said communication that on concluding investigation charge-sheet being no.202 of 2026 dated 19th March, 2026 was submitted against the accused driver and petitioner being the complainant was informed of such steps taken by the investigating agency.

In view of filing of charge-sheet dated 19th March, 2026, at this stage, no further order need be passed on this writ petition save and except granting leave to the petitioner to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate in future in connection with the chargesheet filed by the concerned police authority, if occasion so arises.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
