Pursuant to the previous order passed by this Court, a memo dated 22nd June, 2026 of ADG & IGP, Cyber Crime Wing, West Bengal enclosing memo dated 22nd June, 2026 of Deputy SP. SM Cell, Cyber Crime Wing, West Bengal is placed before this Court and same is taken on record.

On perusal of memo no.673/ SM Cell/ WBCCW/ 2026 dated 22nd June, 2026 of Deputy SP. SM Cell, Cyber Crime Wing, WB, it is found that at the time of making GD entry no.191 dated 12th March, 2026 concerned police station inadvertently sent the URL of petitioner's Facebook profile instead of the URL of specific objectionable post to the concerned authority of respondent no.9. Consequently, entire Facebook account of the petitioner was blocked by respondent no.9 instead of restricting access only to that specific objectionable content.

It needs to be recorded herein that Mr. Suryaneel Das, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents submits that there was no objectionable post found on the Facebook profile of the petitioner.

Taking note of the contents of the said memo dated 22nd June, 2026 and the submissions made on behalf of the State respondents, respondent no.9 is directed to restore Facebook account of the petitioner by seventy-two (72) hours from date.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
