WPA (P) 157 & 154 of 2022 investigation was concerned, nothing further was required to be done by the CBI. The only surviving issue in the matter was in respect of disbursement of compensation to the family members of the victim. For that purpose this Court on 14.11.2022 had permitted the petitioners to implead the Secretary, SLSA and thereafter Secretary, SLSA has been served. Learned counsel for the SLSA has informed today that the authority has sanctioned a sum of `5 lacs as interim compensation in favour of the parents of the deceased girl under the West Bengal Victim Compensation Scheme, 2017 and the said amount has been transferred in their account on 19th December, 2022.

Learned counsel for the petitioners also fairly submits that the grievance raised in the petition is now redressed. Hence, nothing further is required to be done in the present case. The petition is disposed of accordingly by taking note of the aforesaid subsequent development.

In re: WPA (P) 154 of 2022 At the request of learned counsel for the parties the case is adjourned.
