The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas to provide the necessary clarification as sought for by the Deputy Secretary, Department of Panchayats and Rural Development vide communication dated 23rd February, 2017.

By the said communication, the Deputy Secretary sought information from the District Magistrate with regard to the post in which the petitioner was appointed.

The petitioner complains that till date there is no response from the end of the District Magistrate. As it appears that the information by way of clarification was sought from the District Magistrate long time back, accordingly, the District Magistrate,

South 24-Parganas is directed to provide the necessary clarification so that consequential steps may be taken by the Department of Panchayats and Rural Development at the earliest, but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the communication dated 23rd February, 2017 addressed to the District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas by the Deputy Secretary, Department of Panchayats and Rural Development at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

A copy of the clarification report shall be forwarded by the District Magistrate to the petitioner. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
