Petitioner is aggrieved by the progress of Beldanga P. S. Case No. 577 of 2023 dated 28-07-2023. Record reflects that the case has already been committed to the court of sessions and is pending before the learned District and Sessions Judge, 1st court, Berhampore, Murshidabad.
It has been informed by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the next date has been fixed on 19th April, 2024, after the charge was framed on 3rd April, 2024.
Having regard to the submissions so advanced, I direct the learned trial court to fix a schedule consisting of three dates and such schedule be fixed once in every forty-five days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. The Public Prosecutor appearing in the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the dates fixed for examination of the witnesses concerned.
No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties. The trial of the case should continue in spite of any resolution of the
local Bar. The conducting advocates representing the respective parties would not stall the proceedings because of such resolution. All the stake-holders would cooperate with the trial court to conclude the trial at the earliest keeping in mind that there are 17 witnesses on whom the prosecution has relied upon to prove its case. With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 1109 of 2024 is disposed of.
Pending applications, if any, are consequently disposed of. All concerned parties are to act in terms of a copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. [Tirthankar Ghosh, J]
