Mitra ...... for the State Petitioner is in custody for more than a year. He renews his bail prayer.

Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer. We have considered the materials on record. On the leading statement of the petitioner and co-accuseds weapon of offence was recovered. There are other incriminating materials connecting him with the crime. Trial is in progress.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
