No. 29 CHC Rejected C.R.M.(A) 948 of 2024 In Re:- An application for anticipatory bail under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Durgapur Police Station Case No. 581 of 2023 dated 07.11.2023 under Sections 341/323/325/354/34 adding Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

And In the matter of : Amrita Samanta ...... petitioner Mr. Subrata Bhattacharjya ....for the petitioner Mr. Pinak Ranjan Mitra ....for the State Petitioner prays for anticipatory bail.

The victim was assaulted and subsequently succumbed to her injuries.

Post Mortem Report records that, the victim suffered several injuries.

Materials in the Case Diary suggest that, petitioner was also involved in the assault leading to the death of the victim. In such circumstances, considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. This application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. CRM(A) 948 of 2024 is disposed of.
