The only prayer of the writ petitioner is for a direction on the District Magistrate, North 24 - Parganas to dispose of the representation made by the petitioner which was received by the District Magistrate on 24th November, 2021.

The representation relates to a complaint of filling up ponds in the locality by the private respondent no. 10.

A Notification issued by the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture, Aquatic Resources & Fishing Harbours dated 20th July, 2017 indicates that the District Magistrates within their respective revenue districts is the appropriate

authority to which such kind of representations can be made.

WPA 6691 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction on the District Magistrate, North 24Parganas to dispose of the representation within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order. The petitioner shall be heard before passing a reasoned order which is to be communicated to the petitioner within a week from the date on which such order is passed. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertakings.
