An inadvertent error has crept into the order passed on 15th May, 2026.

In the said order "Alleged contemnor no.1/the State is not represented" be deleted.

The Department is directed to incorporate necessary correction in the said order accordingly.

This order be treated as part of the order dated 15th May, 2026.

Report submitted by the State is taken on record. The present application has been filed for alleged violation of the order passed on 26th February, 2026. The operative portion of the order is as hereunder: "Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, this Court is of the view that since the petitioner alleges that the complaint lodged by him before the police authority has not been acted upon, he is at liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate under Section 175 of the BNSS for redressal of his grievance.

In the meantime, the police authority shall maintain vigil in the area and shall ensure maintenance of peace and tranquility."

Though the private respondents in the writ petition have been impleaded as alleged contemnors herein, the order reflects that no direction was given to them therein. Therefore the question of the violation of the order by the alleged contemnor nos.2 & 3 does not arise.

It appears from the report submitted by the State/alleged contemnor no.1 that the police authority has maintained vigil in the area and has requested the parties to maintain peace and act according to law. In view of the above, this Court is inclined to hold that the order under contempt has been substantially complied with by the alleged contemnor no.1.

In view of the above, the contempt application being CPAN 400 of 2026 is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Urgent certified website copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
