Constitutional Writ Jurisdiction (APPELLATE SIDE) WPA 7305 of 2026 Mou Banerjee (Ganguly) -Versus - The State of West Bengal & Others Mr. Apurba Kumar Datta Ms. Sreemayee Mukherjee ......for the petitioner Mr. Sambuddha Dutta Mr. Bikramjit Mandal ....for the State respondents

1) Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

2) It is alleged in the writ petition that elder brother of the petitioner went missing on and from 20th January, 2026 which prompted the petitioner to lodge complaint with the concerned police authority by sending letter through email and post. It is submitted that in spite of receipt of complaint alleging that elder brother of the petitioner was abducted, necessary steps were not taken by the police authorities.

3) Learned advocate representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 5th April, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge of Bankura Police Station and same is taken on record. Copy of said

communication is made over to learned advocate representing the petitioner.

4) It is disclosed in said communication that on enquiry it was found that elder brother of the petitioner was not abducted rather he was admitted in rehabilitation centre by his wife due to his addiction.

5) In view of aforesaid scenario, no further order need be passed on this writ petition.

6) Writ petition stands disposed of.

7) Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
