1. The grievance of the petitioner-bank is that the respondent no. 2, that is, the District Magistrate, Purba Bardhaman, has committed inordinate delay in disposing of the petitioner's application under Section of the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (in short "2002 Act") filed against the private respondents.

2. Despite service, none appears for the private respondents at the time of call. Affidavit-ofservice filed in Court today be kept on record.

3. From the materials annexed and pleaded in the writ petition, it is evident that there is substance in such contention.

4. Accordingly, WPA No. 7237 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 2, that is, the District Magistrate, Purba

Bardhaman, to dispose of the petitioner's application under Section 14 of the 2002 Act as expeditiously as possible, positively within three weeks from the date of communication of this order to the said respondent.

5. There will be no order as to costs.

6. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
