1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. In spite of service of notice respondent nos. 5 and 6 are not represented.

2. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that a complaint was lodged on 9th February, 2026 with the concerned police station but based on such complaint steps were not taken by the police authorities.

3. Learned Advocate representing the State respondents has placed before this Court a communication dated 8th April, 2026 of Officer-in-Charge, Jibantala Police Station , Baruipur Police District and same is taken on record. Copy of the communication dated 8th April, 2026 is made over to the learned Advocate representing the petitioner.

4. It is disclosed in the communication dated 8th April, 2026 that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner a criminal prosecution being Jibantala P.S. Case No.

173/26 dated 7th April, 2026 was initiated in terms of certain provisions of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

5. In view of the steps taken by the police authorities it appears grievance of the petitioner stands redressed and no further order need be passed on this writ petition.

However, police authorities are directed to expedite investigation and submit report at an early date.

6. Accordingly, W.P.A 7404 of 2026 stands disposed of.

7. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
