Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has sought an electricity connection, for which an estimate was handed over by the CESC Limited. Since the same is exorbitant, the petitioner has approached the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) with such billing dispute, which is now pending. The petitioner submits that the dispute is required to be resolved at an early date.

Learned counsel appearing for the CESC Limited, on instruction, submits that although it has been stated in the writ petition that the petitioner has applied for a domestic connection, actually the petitioner has made an application for industrial connection.

Be that as it may, since the matter is pending before the GRO, WPA 7290 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the concerned GRO, that is, respondent no.2, to dispose of the dispute pending at the behest of the petitioner as

expeditiously as possible and in accordance with law, upon giving opportunity of hearing to all necessary parties.

It is expected that such disposal shall be effected within six weeks from date.

Since no affidavits have been invited, it is deemed that none of the allegations made in the writ petition are admitted by the respondents.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
