1. By way of this public interest litigation the petitioners prayed for a direction to appoint the Chairman and the Member of the West Bengal Administrative Tribunal.

2. The Search-cum-Selection Committee was constituted and the process had begun, application had also been invited and the Chief Justice of this Court is part of the Search-cum-Selection Committee.

3. However, due to the reconstitution of the Committee on account of the resignation of the then learned Advocate General, the meeting stood adjourned

and subsequently due to ensuing Election the meeting could not be convened.

4. In any event the matter is in the advanced stage and decision will be taken by the Committee at the earliest.

5. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submitted that there are several matters which are pending before the tribunal which have not been taken up by the tribunal though the matters are involving minor issues.

6. In this regard it is seen that a writ petition was filed in WPA 21973 of 2023 before this court wherein the petitioners are aggrieved by the process of recruitment for the Post of Supervisor under the ICDS Scheme pursuant to a Recruitment Notice dated 25th February, 2019.

7. While disposing of the writ petition by order dated 17.11.2023 the learned West Bengal State Administrative Tribunal was directed to hear out any application that may be filed by the petitioners, expeditiously and with urgency.

8. This direction may be taken note of by the tribunal and the applications which are filed need not be adjourned to be heard by a Bench comprising of Two Members and the matter can be taken up and orders can be passed in the light of the directions issued in the above referred writ petition.

9. With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
