W.P.A. 8094 of 2021 (Jaspal Singh vs. CESC & Anr.) Mr. Indranil Halder .... For the Petitioner Mr. Debjit Mukherjee .... For the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against disconnection of the electricity supply to the premises of the petitioner. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner is ready and willing to make all payments required by the CESC Authorities for restoration of his electricity connection.

It is submitted on behalf of the CESC authorities that the petitioner has to make a fresh application in accordance with law for restoration of electricity connection in view of the fact that disconnection of electricity to the premises of the petitioner has been for a period of 180 days. Having heard the submissions made on behalf of the parties, I dispose of the present writ petition being WPA 8094 of 2021 by directing the petitioner to make a fresh application for an electric connection in accordance with law after complying with all formalities. If such application is made, the respondent CESC authority is directed to consider the same and provide the petitioner with a fresh electricity connection upon payment of all necessary statutory charges. The aforesaid exercise is to be completed within a period of three weeks from date.

The petitioner is granted liberty to make such an application within a period of one week from date. With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 8094 of 2021 is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
