The contempt proceedings are dropped against the Pradhan, Mashila Gram Panchayat and the Block Development Officer, on perusal of the report filed on behalf of the Pradhan.

According to the gram panchayat, the competent authority to decide the issue of unauthorized construction under the law would be the panchayat samiti. All documents relating to the construction, etc., have been forwarded to the samiti. If the petitioner is aggrieved by the non-action of the samiti, the petitioner is at liberty to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

Accordingly, the contempt application is disposed of. Parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
