1. Affidavit of service filed by the petitioner is taken on record.

2. The petitioner holds permit for the bus route Nos. 13/ 13A/13B and 13C from Mogra to Korola and Pandua to Kalna respectively. His permit is valid upto March 28, 2030.

3. The petitioner seeks variation of this route No. 13A (from Mogra to Korola) by way of curtailment of the route. For this purpose, she has filed a written representation before the Chairman, RTA, Hooghly dated March 4, 2025.

4. By filing the present writ petition, the petitioner has sought for a direction upon the respondent authority to immediately consider his prayer as above.

5. Variation of the permitted route and/or curtailment thereof is the statutory right of the permit holder upon compliance with the conditions as prescribed in the statute. In such circumstances, the Court has no hesitation to direct the respondent no. 2

to take up the prayer of the petitioner, as above by dint of his letter dated March 4, 2025 and decide thereupon.

6. In doing so, the respondent no. 2/the Regional Transport Authority, Hooghly shall afford opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and pass a reasoned order, if not, the prayer of the petitioner is immediately allowed by the same.

7. That order, if any, shall be communicated to the petitioner within one week from its date.

8. The entire exercise as above should be concluded by the respondent no. 2 within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of copy of this order.

9. With the above observations and directions the writ petition being WPA 7176 of 2025 is disposed of.

10. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents including the private respondents.
