The petitioner complains that the police is not taking any steps in response to the complaint lodged on 1st March, 2024.

Learned Advocate representing the State respondents relies upon the report dated 26th March, 2024 by the Inspector-in-Charge, Gangarampur Police Station mentioning that the matter was enquired and the police submitted non FIR prosecution under Section 107 Cr.P.C. against both the opposite party members vide PS NON FIR PR No.249/2024 dated 16th March, 2024.

A specific case being Gangarampur PS Case No. 125/2024 dated 19/03/2024 under Sections 506/34 I.P.C. read with Section 3(1)(r)(s) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has been registered. Investigation of the case is in progress.

The instant writ petition is disposed of by directing police to continue and conclude the investigation in accordance with law at the earliest. The police shall maintain strict vigil and ensure that no breach of peace takes place at the locale. The writ petition stands disposed of.
