None appears on behalf of the respondent nos. 4 and 5 despite service. Affidavit of service filed in Court be kept with the record.

The petitioner seeks appointment on compassionate ground. He was called to attend in the verification of documents cum counselling process under died in harness category for the purpose of recommendation for appointment to the post of Group-C (Clerk)/Group-D.

The petitioner submits that the date fixed for counselling was 27.03.2020, but the same was postponed in view of the pandemic.

The petitioner alleges that since thereafter no steps have been taken for concluding the process of selection. The

petitioner by an e-mail dated 26.05.2021 requested the authority to conclude the process. Thereafter further representation was made by the petitioner on 21.02.2022. The petitioner alleges that none of the representations has been answered by the respondents till date. It appears from the documents annexed to the writ petition and the submissions made on behalf of the petitioner that the process of documents verification cum counselling for appointment on compassionate ground under the died in harness category is pending for a considerable period of time. The purpose of providing compassionate appointment will be frustrated if the matter remains pending for so long. Prayer for compassionate appointment should be dealt with extreme urgency.

Accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent nos. 4 and 5 to take immediate steps for concluding the process of appointment on compassionate ground in accordance with law at the earliest, but positively within a period of 90 days from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
