Mr. Sukumar Majumdar ....for the petitioner Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. An FIR was lodged under Sections 498A and 406 of the Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act in the year 2017. A charge sheet dated 30.01.2018 was submitted omitting Section 406 of the Penal Code. Yet, till date the proceeding could not be concluded, even charges have not been framed. The next date is fixed for framing of charge is 14.07.2025. Long dates are being fixed in this matter. As the petitioner has prayed for expeditious disposal of the proceeding, no prejudice will be caused to anyone if the matter is disposed of without notice to other side.

This is an unfortunate case where a proceeding initiated in the year 2017 has not been concluded yet.

The trial court is requested to expedite the proceeding and decide the question of framing of charge in accordance with law and at the earliest, preferably within four weeks from the next date fixed for hearing.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
