Pursuant to the direction of the Coordinate Bench of this Court on 4th October, 2024, the administrative notice was issued and the report as received by this Court reveals that the petitioner had expired and a photocopy of the death certificate was produced by the son of the petitioner which has been placed before this court vide the report of Deputy Registrar (Criminal)/Assistant Registrar-XII. On perusal of the same and considering the long pendency of the matter which was filed for setting aside the order dated 27.11.1996 passed by the learned Sub-Divisional Executive Magistrate at Howrah giving direction upon the Officer-in-Charge, Dhantala, Nadia to search for the child at the address of the petitioner herein, this court finds that the revisional application stands abated in view of the death of the petitioner.

Hence, the matter being CRR 3309 of 1996 stands disposed of being abated.
