The petitioner has filed the instant application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure after being arrested in connection with Panchla P.S. Case No.187 of 2020 dated 16.08.2020 under Sections 302/120B of the Indian Penal Code. Several persons were initially shown as accused in connection with the aforementioned case but the charge sheet was filed only against the petitioner.

The instant case pertains to the murder of her husband and we have perused the statement of her children recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The gravity of such statement is visualised and we do not think that it is a fit case where the petitioner should be enlarged on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. However, we find that she requires medical attention. The Superintendent of the concerned Correctional Home is directed to

extend all assistance to her as and when advised by the attending doctor.

The application for bail, being CRM 2893 of 2021, is thus dismissed.
