The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction and gross delay in the disposal of an application under Section 14 of the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act (SARFAESI), 2002.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that despite the above application being filed in March 2025, there has been inordinate and unexplained delay by the respondent authorities in disposing of the same. The respondents remain unrepresented.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that pursuant to the filing of the writ petition, a hearing had taken place on 10th April, 2026 and the order is awaited. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to serve a copy of this order on the concerned District Magistrate who is requested to take expeditious steps in the matter.

The pendency of proceedings under section 14 of the SARFAESI Act, 2002 by the Office of the District Magistrate, defeats the purpose and object of the Act. With the above directions, WPA 7696 of 2026 stands disposed of.
