The petitioner is seeking compassionate appointment as his father while in service of the State of West Bengal died in harness on 31st July, 2006. In view of the provisions of the Administrative Tribunals Act, 1985 this Court lacks the jurisdiction to receive, try and determine this writ petition.

In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, this writ petition is dismissed for lack of jurisdiction by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the appropriate forum if entitled to in law. The time spent between 14th March, 2024 when the writ petition was filed and till date, i.e., 5th July, 2024 shall be construed as time spent in prosecuting a litigation bona fide before a Court without jurisdiction.
