Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) submits that, due to ongoing cultivation activities, the electricity connection could not be effected thus far. However, it is submitted that the connection is likely to be effected by the end of June of the current year. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon WBSEDCL to provide the electricity connection to the petitioner within six weeks from the date of this order, subject to the petitioner's compliance with any additional formalities, if required.

The Officer-in-Charge of Sagardighi Police Station is directed to provide necessary assistance to the officials of WBSEDCL for the implementation of this order. The cost of such police assistance shall be borne by the petitioner.

Accordingly, WPA 7185 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
