Islam Ms. Reshmi Khatoon ..for the petitioner Mr. Amitesh Banerjee Mr. Tarak Karan ..for the State This writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the investigating authority, namely, the Inspector-in-Charge, Canning Police Station, to continue with the investigation and take appropriate steps, in accordance with law. The prayer of the investigating officer of the concerned police station, for transfer of the case to Baruipur, was rejected by the learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, by an order dated June 8, 2022.

It is made clear, that the investigation shall be made in a free, fair and impartial manner.

As much time has been wasted on the confusion as to which police station would conduct the investigation, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police, Baruipur Police District, to ensure that the investigation proceeds expeditiously and all required steps under the law, are taken. The specific contention of the petitioner is that the sridhan articles have not been recovered as yet.

The concerned Superintendent of Police will monitor the investigation.

This writ petition is disposed of.

There will be, however, no order as to costs. All parties are to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
