Manoranjan Das v. State Of West Bengal

And In Re : Manoranjan Das ........ petitioner Mr. A K Samanta ...... for the petitioner Mr. Avishek Sinha ...... for the State Mr. Sabyasachi Chatterjee Mr. S Das Mr. D Das ...... for the de facto complainant Petitioner is in custody for more than three years. He submits there is inordinate delay in trial. He prays for bail. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer. He submits trial has substantially progressed.

We have considered the materials on record. There are materials implicating the petitioner in the murder. Nine witnesses have already been examined.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, prayer for bail is rejected.

Trial Court is requested to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date.
