Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on record.

The petitioner, the widow of former employee of respondent corporation, claims interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits.

The petitioner's husband superannuated from service of the WBTCL on April 30, 2013. He received his terminal benefits of Rs.6,53,263/- towards provident fund on 04.07.2013 and Rs.6,24,842/- towards gratuity & leave encashment on 21.04.2014.

The petitioner is entitled to interest for the period from 01.05.2013 to 04.07.2013 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards provident fund and from 01.05.2013 to 21.04.2014 at the rate of 6 per cent per annum towards gratuity and leave

encashment. Let the same be paid to the petitioner by the WBTCL within a period of one month from date.

In default of payment as directed above, the rate of interest shall stand increased to 9 per cent per annum.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
