Adak ...For the State Writ petition is directed against an order dated May 19, 2022 passed in M.A. 793 of 2015 (O.A. No. 2575 of 2014) (LRTT) by which the learned Tribunal refused to grant relief in the miscellaneous application filed by the writ petitioner.

Petitioner invoked Section 15 of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997 read with Contempt of Court's Act, 1971 alleging violation of an order dated December 9, 2024 passed by the Tribunal in O.A. 2575 of 2014 by way of M.A. 793 of 2015 which resulted in the impugned order.

During the pendency of the present writ petition, the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer issued a notice dated May 5, 2025 purporting to act in compliance with the direction contained in the order dated December 9, 2014 passed in O.A. No. 2575 of 2014 of the LRTT. It is expected that the concerned Block Land & Land Reforms Officer concludes the proceeding initiated by the notice dated May 5, 2025 as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of eight weeks from date. W.P.L.R.T. 57 of 2025 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
