The petitioner has applied for the information under the Right to Information Act before the BL&LRO under section 6(1) of the Right to Information Act 2005 by an application dated 1.7.2024.

As the BL&LRO has not passed any order for providing information as requested by the petitioner, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the appellate authority under section 19(1) of the Right to Information Act on 2.9.2024.

it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that on receipt of the application, the appellate authority had issued a notice to the petitioner to appear before the appellate authority on 30th October 2024 and accordingly, the petitioner has appeared before the appellate authority but till date no order has been passed

either rejecting the appeal filed by the petitioner or by directing the Public Information Officer for supply of the documents.

Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and perusing the materials on record this court finds that the appeal is pending before the appellate authority i.e. respondent no. 4. 6.

Accordingly, WPA 7325 of 2025 is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 4 to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 2.9.2024 within a period of four weeks after Puja vacation after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and to pass a reasoned and speaking order.
