Petitioner contends he is the storekeeper of the Cooperative Society. He was compelled by the manager to sign on cash book and ledgers. He has been falsely implicated in the case. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He contends petitioner had conspired with the manager and had misappropriated a sum of Rs.228.89 lakhs. He had also taken unauthorised personal loan from the bank. 3.

We have considered the materials on record.

Documents seized during investigation show petitioner acted as a cashier and had aided and abetted the manager to misappropriate a large sum of money. Bail prayer of the manager has been rejected in February, 2024. Trial is about to commence in April, 2024.

Hence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.
