The learned D.S.G. appearing for the respondents including Foreigners Regional Registration Officer, Delhi Foreigners Regional Registration Office as well as the Regional Passport Officer, Kolkata submits that the Assistant Passport Officer, Regional Passport Office, Kolkata took a decision on 29th March, 2023 for impounding the petitioner's passport. The said decision has since been forwarded to the Passport Issuing Authority, namely, the Consular Office, Embassy of India at Tokyo, Japan to take necessary steps in the matter.

Since the writ petition was filed for permitting the petitioner to travel to Japan to be with her infant daughter, the petitioner should be given leave to file appropriate proceedings under The Passport Act, 1967. W.P.A.7510 of 2023 is according disposed of with a direction on the Regional Passport Officer, Kolkata being the respondent no.5 to ensure that the decision of impounding the petitioner's passport reaches the petitioner within 7 days from today.
