Mr. Sandipan Das Ms. Suparna Dutta ... for the petitioners Mr. Sumon Ghosh Ms. Asmita Ghosh ... for the State By an order dated 04.12.2023, the investigation of the case was handed over to the C.I.D. with a direction to make their best efforts to trace out and recover the girl and conclude the investigation expeditiously.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners now submits that the victim girl has not yet been recovered. Let the case be supervised by a senior officials and the investigation done by the C.I.D.

Learned counsel on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits as follows. It is a peculiar case where the sixteen years old girl had twice earlier gone away to the accused boy. On the third attempt, she went missing and could not be recovered. All possible efforts are being made to recover the girl. The Anti Human Trafficking Unit has also been involved. Several statements have been recorded and raids have been conducted. Missing information has been circulated through Akashbani and Doordarshan and to different places including hospitals. The relevant mobile phone numbers have been placed on tracking, but they are switched off. Such cases are supervised by a senior officer.

It appears that the Investigating Agency has taken several steps to trace out the girl. Let them continue with their efforts in the best possible way.

Let the investigation be concluded as expeditiously and in accordance with law.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon competition of requisite formalities.
